Fishing Report – Feb. 6, 2020

The temperatures for the weekend are expected to be in the low to mid 30’s with a chance of snow on Sunday.

With the warm temperatures from the previous week lakes thawed and refroze making ice conditions very dangerous. Anglers must still use caution when traveling out on the ice as ice conditions have not yet been stable.

There was a major spike in steelhead activity due to the warm temperatures from the previous week, anglers were able to catch many steelhead on Maxi Jig Maribou Steelhead Jig by Yakima and spawn.

Anglers who had safe ice were able to catch many panfish, pike, and even some walleye.

Those targeting bluegill and crappie caught good numbers on Fiskas Epoxy Wolfram Tungsten Ice Jigs spiked with wax worms or small minnows.

Anglers were able to catch pike on Blue Ice Tip-Ups by Clam in 15-20 feet of water.

Walleye anglers struggled a little with the bite, fish seemed to be finicky causing anglers to move around to different holes. Anglers did report that when the bite was “on” multiple fish were caught in a short amount of time on jigs like the Vibrato Vertical Jig by Sebile.
