Fishing Report – Sept. 5, 2019

The temperature is starting to decline. Anglers heading out to the water this weekend should expect temperatures in the low to mid 70’s.
Smallmouth bass fishing, especially in the river systems, are still producing good numbers of fish. Anglers have been using Brad’s Magnum Wigglers by B.S. Fish Tales, Strike King Bitsy Minnow Crankbaits, and Baby Paca Craws by Netbait to catch smallmouth in deeper holes.
Largemouth bass are still being caught in areas of healthy vegetation. Try throwing a topwater bait like the Bronzeye Hollow Frogs by SPRO or Hack Attack Pad Perch by Strike King around healthy vegetation. Bass are also being caught on a variety of dropshot baits like the KVD Drop Shot Half Shell by Strike King.
Anglers are catching some salmon on a mixture of Michigan Stinger Spoons by Advance Tackle, Meat Head Cut Bait Rigs by Dreamweaver, and Yakima Mag Lip Trolling Plugs, 50 to 90 feet deep in 50 to 180 feet of water. Salmon have also been caught on pearl and chrome Rattling J-Plugs by Luhr Jensen.
Coho have been caught in select areas of the river.
